My name is Linda and I'm a show addict. Ok, there it is in type for all to see! The deadlines for all of the holiday craft show applications is just around the corner. Right now I think I can do them but will need help. I can't carry my bins and I'm not sure if I should even be lifting them with help (frustrating) but then there's those quick set-up's and break down's, I'm already the last one out and now with an ever growing belly I'm just not sure if I can do it quick enough. Has anyone out there done a craft show 7 + months pregnant? The Mister voted a firm "NO" on shows and he's my helper but will flex a bit if I insist. Oh, torn, what's an addict to do?!

Holiday Shows are the toughest ones to skip but you would be taking a break for one of the best excuses there is!
Maybe just do one that is close to home and has an easy load-in?
A really good dolly can certainly help, but maybe you need to see if you can lobby some friends to help you with set ups and take downs- they might be willing to help for some free pots... just an idea. I was still throwing at nearly 9 months pregnant, but the belly did really cramp my style... Stay healthy and don't pull your back out! Heather
Do it! It will be much easier with a big belly than with a infant next year! But don't push yourself too much like heather said, stay heathy! good luck, and sorry to be an enabler....
I did one over the summer at 8 mo. With a helper who did all the lifting and a good chunk of the sales as I was waddling back and forth to the restrooms. I say go for it.
Do it! But get hubby to help, of course. Signed, another enabler.
Staying healthy comes first -so it depends on how you feel. I think your shape could help sales!! Personally, I couldn't stay still being pregnant with any of my 3 kids, working on art and socializing felt great. Get others to load you in, set up and load out but savor all the compliments and well wishers :o)
Wow, Thanks!!! I thought I might be crazy thinking I can do it. Shows are exhausting so I might just try for one out of towner and one in town if something good pops up. We talked about smaller/lighter bins and some new items that would be easier for me to deal with. I do have a cart but in and out of the truck and studio are too much, so I'll be knocking on a neighbors door for help! I'll let you know what I decide for sure : ) thanks so much for all the input!
I'm a bit late to the party...but I too say go for it - in moderation! I worked right until the very end with my pregnancies, and am so glad I did - time goes so much faster when you're busy, and the end is so much waiting (especially when you go 2-3 weeks past the due date like I did...both times!) You definitely do need to plan for physically limiting yourself though...so playup that pregnant belly for all the help you can get!
It's so great to hear about other crafty ladies working up until the end! I also plan to do work until the baby comes. The show thing is kindof an extra for me since I mainly sell online and have stores to stock. But a few of the holiday shows I do are so much fun that I'm feeling torn. And the rush to make as much $ as possible before she arrives is there too ;) So thank you everyone for your input, please keep it coming! I love hearing it. xo, Linda
