happy thanksgiving!!!

Dear World,
I wish you a very happy thanksgiving, I know this is our holiday here in the USA but, really, having a day for everyone to give thanks in a non-denominational way is just too lovely not to share. So in whatever way you can, please say a thank you to those you love, those you pass in the streets, those who cross your mind, the people and animals that make your day special. And for those that like to make the world a not so nice place, please change. No one understands your violence, your threats, or your incredibly intimidating presence. We all just want to live a nice life here on our planet. And to the polluters of our home, please stop. To those that are doing their part in cleaning up, a huge thank you from me, I'm just one little potter but it means so very much to me that you are creating better ways for all of us to live lighter on our beautiful earth.

I hope you are all able to gather with family and friends to enjoy a peaceful day and to appreciate what you have. I am especially thankful this thanksgiving to spend it with my family, the first one in many years that we are able to be together. A special thank you to my parents for moving east this summer and to mom for cooking! I am so happy to have you nearby : ) And to everyone that supports my little biz, THANK YOU for helping me live my dream - and making my parents proud of their little artist!

Happy Thanksgiving!
xoxo,
Linda

a good show!

Makings of a good show:
  • gathering up all of my breakables and driving to Baltimore in record time (thanks Steve!)
  • arriving safely and easily unloading and setting up
  • the crowds arrived to shop : )
  • fellow crafty pals saying hellos
  • shopping a bit and admiring all the loveliness
  • packing up my very light bins and heading home
  • arriving to a house with a very good puppy - who was left home all day with the run of the house and didn't do anything naughty!
  • Relaxing and falling asleep knowing that all that hard work paid off!

Thank you for coming out and supporting all of us hand makers!
xoxo, Linda

2 years!

Hello out there, today I need to mark my "I've been a full-time potter for 2 years anniversary" - ahhh! It is a very good feeling to now be able to not only look to the future of this little biz but to look back and see 4 and a half years in business with 2 being full-time. Today marks the annivarsary of what I truly see as a start, the time before that was prep work, time spent getting ready to change my life and make it something I could love. When I decided to go full-time I had a great job, so great that people were asking me how can you leave such a great job! (I was a Facilities Manager for Morgan Stanley where I managed a beautiful art collection, worked on space planning, interior design, ergonomics, and ran my groups web site - for 8 years) It was easy when I had a better offer! I now work from home, do something I love, network with people I have something in common with, and feel much healthier and happier then I can ever remember being! I do miss the vacation time but, that will come! To thank you for your support, in this month of thankfulness, I am offering:
xoxo, Linda
